Personal Stories of Change Blog Carnival: Edition 8
Welcome to the 8th Edition of the Personal Stories of Change Blog Carnival. I have picked up a few new readers lately, so I will give a quick overview of how this carnival works. Basically this carnival aims to put the personal in personal development by collecting and presenting true and inspiring stories of change. I hope you enjoy the following articles as much as I did
:
Tristan presents Arland Dean Williams Jr: The Ultimate Act of Unconditional Love posted at The Synergy Institute.
In this article, Tristan shares a story of one of his heroes who sacrificed his own life for the lives of five others. The following is a great excerpt from the article: “Here was a very average person, who was placed in a very grave situation. It was this situation that brought out the hero within Arland that was dormant within him.”

David B. Bohl presents More than a Coach - David B. Bohl’s Slow Down FAST Program : Slow Down Fast Today!
David has an intriguing story of personal change. By age 30 he was a partner in a trading firm and, although working 80-100 hour weeks, thought he had everything he wanted. Then he quit to become a professional personal coach and mentor. Find out how and why in this article.

TherapyDoc presents Stealing from the Closet posted at Everyone Needs Therapy.
A simple yet touching story of how our children create us as they grow older.

Tupelo Kenyon presents Communication - Friend or Foe posted at Tupelo Kenyon.
I loved this story. Here is one of my favorite excerpts from it: “I had no job, no prospects, and no apparent means of support. I had nothing to prove and nothing to lose, so I told him how it was with no embellishments. I had an old guitar and played him a song or two. I told him it was only a matter of time until I figured out how my music would provide a living. We shot the breeze for quite awhile until he finally told me I could rent the house.
Before he left the key with me, he looked right at me with a peculiar twinkle in his eye and said . . .’Clear understanding makes lifetime friends.’ ”

Luke Houghton presents 8 things I have learned about success posted at Luke Houghton.
Regular readers will realize “success” has been on my mind a lot lately. In this article, Luke tells his inspiring story of how he went from being unemployed with no education and nowhere to go, to completing a PhD and working in a job where he is able to share his knowledge.

Hairy Swede (Peter: too much information!) presents Swedish TV Educates and I Get Educated posted at A Swedish American in Sweden.
This is a short but enjoyable article that touches on the difficulties of returning to where one was born after many years away.

Brip Blap presents Stopping Negative Thoughts posted at Brip Blap.
Many people, myself included, have a tendency to overcomplicate things. Often, though, simple tricks can be used to great effect. This article is about a simple trick for stopping negative thoughts - it may just be worth a shot!

Well that concludes this edition. From now on, this will be a fortnightly event on every second Friday. I still have a few articles that I received in the last few days that will be in the next edition. I need some more, though, so if you have a personal story of change please visit the carnival submission form. Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend
